Your web site projects the image of your business on the Internet, so it is imperative that both its content and function are carefully designed. The Web Design Department will study your project in detail to ensure that your business is ideally situated on the web to obtain optimum results.

  • 1. Study of your products and services.
  • 2. Study of your Internet competition.
  • 3. Conception and planning of your web site.
  • 4. Layout and design of your web site.
  • 5. Creation of web tools and content manager.

>> Technology

The best ideas combined with the lastest advances

In order to develop our projects we use the latest, most advanced technologies, both for programming and the creation of the databases and the design and layout of our web pages.

Of all of the technologies used for web development, we find that the free distribution Software or Open Source, PHP, perfectly compatible with databases MySQL or Postgree, using the Linux operating system for our servers Apache.

We also have Microsoft servers for the development of projects based on ASP technology, which has largely been replaced by the technologies aforementioned.

For the development of graphics, we have all of the necessary web design software, including the most recent web tools. We always try to design web pages in compliance with W3C (World Wide Web Consortium), the world's leading web organization, providing the specifications, guidelines and tools to assist the web in achieving its maximum potential.

The W3C has managed to prevent the fragementation of the World Wide Web. At Connecting Works we are always aware of its recommendations, which we observe so that our web projects will be compatible with all hardware and software variations used to access the Internet.

In addition to these considerations, we also incorporate in our projects current multimedia technologies such as Flash of Macromedia.

>> Accessibility

Improve your position on the world wide web and increase your number of visitors

Why do I need my web page to be accessible? An accessible web page has many advantages for those who have mobility issues, or those who use web-ready devices (PDAs, mobile phones etc...) different from the navigators of many personal computers.

If your site is accessible, users with impaired vision can use a screen dictation device which synthesizes a voiced translation of your page's content. As long as it is validated in XHTML the content can be interpretated, regardless of the hardware used for its visualization (PDAs, mobile phones, WebTV, including those with slow connections, etc...). And thanks to the cascade style sheets (CSS), users with specific visual necessities can magnify or reduce the size of the text to suit their needs. The Internet SHOULD BE MAINTAINED a medium of communication and commerce ACCESSIBLE to ALL.

Another of the important benefits of having a standardized and accessible site is that search engines such as Google and Yahoo do not look for the style or design of your site, but rather that its content structurally coherent. A standardized and accessible web page allows an improvement in your web sites positioning and an increased number of visits.

At Connecting Works we consider accessibility an integral part of the design and creation of our web pages. To test the accessibility of your site, we use TAW, the abbreviation for test for accessbility to the web. This is an on-line tool used to analyse and provide information about the degree of accessibility of a given web site, developed by CTIC, (Technological Centre for Informationand Communication), a foundation supported by the Spanish branch of W3C, in collaboration with the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. The TAW is currently the tool for rating Internet accessibilty most employed in the Spanish language, making it the principal reference both in Spain and Latin America.
